Green Giraffe advised on the full divestment of APF Energy, a growing biomethane platform in the Netherlands, to Schroders Greencoat, on behalf of our clients SWEN Capital Partners and APF BV.
The platform currently comprises 6 assets, including 3 fully operational sites and 3 at construction stage, plus a late-stage pipeline. These generate biomethane from a feedstock mix of agricultural manure and food by-products, addressing nitrate challenges associated with the Netherlands’ livestock industry.
The Orchid transaction brings in Schroders Greencoat as a long-term institutional partner to support APF Energy’s next phase of growth and positions the platform at the heart of the Dutch energy transition, at a time when biomethane is becoming increasingly strategic for decarbonisation.
