Green Giraffe Advisory acted as exclusive financial adviser to Simply Blue Group on a strategic investment by Kansai Electric Power.
Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. (KEPCO) has acquired an 80% stake in Simply Blue Energy OSW Ltd. (SBE OSW) through its wholly owned subsidiary, KPIC Netherlands B.V. The transaction is Kansai’s first investment involving management participation in an offshore wind developer.
SBE OSW is Simply Blue Group’s offshore wind development arm, actively developing a significant renewable energy portfolio, including 8 GW of floating offshore wind and 4 GW of fixed-bottom wind projects across multiple markets.
KEPCO is one of Japan’s leading integrated energy providers. Headquartered in Osaka, the company supplies electricity and energy services to over 13 million customers while driving innovation across the energy sector.
The partnership marks a significant step forward in accelerating offshore wind development and advancing the global energy transition. By combining Simply Blue’s know-how and innovative development approach with Kansai Electric’s expertise and resources, the joint venture is poised to deliver impactful projects that support a sustainable future.
